The mixture of serious and goofy at play here with the seduction attempts and their intentions being to kill her and the delivery guy that shows up mesh nicely alongside the clumsiness of the execution here with the sarcastic interactions and mistaking targets that goes on.
The turn into the ceremonial rituals with the poisoning of the food, the arrival of her friend, and then starting all the preparations for the ritual offers a solid turn here and gives this a great touch. That sets the film up rather nicely once it turns into her more devious and Satanic individual ready to sacrifice her for her ritual. How she handles the daughter and enables all the various shortcuts that her parents forbid her from doing starts this off rather well by making her seem like that ideal kind of fun-loving rulebreaker that's ideal for nannies and babysitters. The various interactions with her friends before arriving at the house and going through the ordeals of the night give this a standardized setup with her being the kind of loose and carefree figure that most would want in a teenage babysitter. Among the better aspects here is the incredibly enjoyable setup that provides an innocent enough starting point for the genre's activities to follow.
